The many beautiful memories of mountain hiking or farm holidays in South Tyrol gradually fade.
Nature photography on the mountain has a special charm for me. You can find an infinite number of motifs, which are selected depending on the mood. The overall experience with the arduous ascent, observing beautiful flowers or animals in magical landscapes and light conditions and finally capturing a picture with the various settings of the camera increases the tension and makes you curious about the picture.
The experience is always great, regardless of whether a great picture is taken or not. The atmosphere on the mountain is different every time, no matter whether you photograph the first rays of sun on the mountain peaks in time-lapse mode or the fairytale atmosphere of a blanket of fog in the Dolomites. I am particularly fascinated by winter on the mountain. In the cold season, the mountains show themselves in a completely different light. Depending on the snow conditions, the shapes of the mountains change. Mountain tops become rounder, the mountain flanks smoother. Small snow ridge valleys glisten in the sun and conjure up fairytale mountain landscapes. Captivated by these beauties of nature, one forgets time and hectic.
I have the greatest respect and esteem for nature. Nature fluctuates between roughness and idyll, and it is precisely this back and forth, the rhythm of the weather, day and night, and the seasons that offer endless opportunities for photography.
