Das Wetterkreuz

In Südtirol trifft man sie auf Spaziergängen und Wanderungen immer wieder an: die Wetterkreuze, oder auch Hagelkreuze oder Wettermarterlen genannt.

Diese Kreuze wurden als Wettersegen errichtet um Haus und Hof vor Unwettern und Naturkatastrophen zu schützen.
Kein Hagelkorn soll die Feld-und Gartenfrüchte zerschlagen, kein Sturm Dächer abdecken, aber auch keine Dürre soll die Ernte gefährden aus diesem Grund werden auch heute noch neue Wetterkreuze errichtet, bzw. alte Wetterkreuze ersetzt.
