Am meisten wird die Passeirer Gebirgsziege gehalten und gezüchtet, sie ist eine robuste, mittelgroße Ziege. Das Kitzfleisch ist eine Delikatesse. Dann gibt es noch die weiße und bunte Edelziege , sie ist am meisten im Gebirge Südtirols verbreitet und liefert köstliche Ziegenmilch.
